New York Yankees lose their second game in a row as they begin tough road trip



The New York Yankees were defeated by the Houston Astros on Thursday night.  The game took place at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas and the final score was 4-0 Astros.  Adam Warren started and pitched well but Dallas Keuchel pitched great.  Chris Young and Carlos Beltran each had two hits. 

Warren pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up five hits and three runs with two of them being earned.  He walked one and struck out four and lost his fifth game of the season.  Chris Capuano pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with two walks and two strikeouts. 

Keuchel pitched a complete game giving up six hits and no runs.  He walked one and struck out 12 and earned his ninth win of the season. 

Young had two hits, Alex Rodriguez had a hit and Mark Teixeira drew a walk.  Beltran had two hits, John Ryan Murphy had a hit and the Yankees were 1-2 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Drew, Warren and Murphy each committed an error and Beltran and Pirela each had an outfield assist. 

George Springer drew a walk, Jose Altuve had three hits and Valbuena drew a walk.  Evan Gattis had two hits and two RBI, Colby Rasmus had a hit and an RBI and Preston Tucker had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  Tucker and Gattis each hit a double and Altuve hit two doubles.  The Astros were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Altuve had two stolen bases and Springer was picked off. 

In the second Tucker hit an RBI double to give the Astros a 1-0 lead.  In the fourth Rasmus hit a sac fly to make it 2-0.  Gattis hit an RBI single in the sixth to give the Astros a 3-0 lead and in the eighth Gattis hit an RBI double to make it 4-0 which would be the final score.  The two teams will play game two of four on Friday night.
