The New York Yankees defeated the
Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night.
The game took place at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida
and the final score was 4-3. Sonny Gray
started for the Yankees and he pitched well.
Miguel Andujar had two hits and two RBI to lead the offense.
Gray started for the Yankees and he
pitched two innings giving up two hits and no runs. He walked none and struck out two. Chance Adams pitched an inning giving up a
hit and a run with two walks, Jonathan Holder plitched an inning giving up two
hits and he struck out one and Ben Heller pitched an inning giving up a hit and
a run with two walks and three strikeouts.
Brian Keller pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out two
and Cody Carroll pitched two innings giving up two hits and a run with two
strikeouts and he picked up the win.
Gary Sanchez had a hit, Eric Kratz
drew a walk and Tyler Austin drew a walk.
Jorge Saez had a hit and an RBI, Brandon Drury had a hit and drew a walk
and Andujar had two hits and two RBI.
Tyler Wade had a hit and an RBI, Sanchez and Andujar each hit a double
and Drury hit a triple. Andujar hit a
homerun and the Yankees were 3-8 with runners in scoring position and left five
men on base. Sanchez had a pickoff.
In the third Carlos Santana hit a
sac fly to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead.
In the fifth Jorge Alfaro was hit by a pitch and the Phillies took a 2-0
lead. In the bottom of the fifth Wade
hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 2-1.
In the bottom of the seventh Andujar hit an RBI double to tie the game at
two. In the eighth Saez hit an RBI
single to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead.
In the ninth Scott Kingery hit a solo homerun to tie the game at
three. In the bottom of the ninth
Andujar hit a solo walk-off homerun to win the game for the Yankees 4-3.
