New York Yankees shutout by Houston AstrosNe


The New York Yankees were defeated by the Houston Astros on Friday.  The game took place at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida and the final score was 2-0.  Jordan Montgomery started for the Yankees and he pitched well.  The Yankees offense only managed a couple of hits. 

Montgomery pitched four innings giving up three hits and two runs with no walks and four strikeouts.  He took the loss, David Robertson pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out three, Chad Green pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and he struck out four and Giovanny Gallegos pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout.  Brady Lail pitched to one batter and retired him. 

Shane Robinson drew a walk, Tyler Austin had a hit and Aaron Hicks drew a walk.  Miguel Andujar had a hit and the Yankees were 0-1 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base. 

In the first J.D. Davis hit a solo homerun to give the Astros a 1-0 lead and in the fourth Tyler White hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 2-0 and that would be the final score.
