New York Mets shutout the Philadelphia Phillies


The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 2-0.  Matt Harvey started for the Mets and pitched well and the bullpen did their job.  Todd Frazier had two hits to lead the offense. 

Harvey pitched five innings giving up a hit and no runs.  He walked one and struck out five.  A.J. Ramos pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout, Jerry Blevins picked up his first win of the season pitching to one batter and getting him out and Seth Lugo pitched two perfect innings with four strikeouts.  Jeurys Familia picked up his second save of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout.   

Ben Lively pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up six hits and two runs with a walk and five strikeouts for the Phillies.  He took his first loss of the season.  Yacksel Rios pitched to one batter and got him out, Victor Arano pitched 1 1/3 innings with two strikeouts and Hoby Milner pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one.  Edubray Ramos pitched to one batter and got him out. 

Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit, Jay Bruce had a hit and Frazier had two hits and an RBI.  Adrian Gonzalez had a hit, Travis d’Arnaud had a hit and an RBI and Jose Reyes drew a walk.  Harvey had a hit, Frazier hit a double and the Mets were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Reyes was caught stealing and Reyes committed an error. 

Cesar Hernandez had a hit, Carlos Santana drew a walk and Aaron Altherr drew two walks.  Rhys Hoskins had a hit, Odubel Herrera had a hit and the Phillies were 0-7 with runners in scoring position and left seen men on base. 

In the sixth Frazier hit an RBI double and d’Arnaud hit an RBI single to make it 2-0 Mets and that would be the final score.
