The New York Yankees were defeated by the Texas Rangers on Friday night. The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 4-2 in ten innings. Clarke Schmidt started for the Yankees and he pitched well. Anthony Rizzo and Isiah Kiner-Falefa each had two hits to lead the offense.
Schmidt pitched 5 1/3 innings
giving up six hits and an unearned run.
He walked one and struck out three.
Jimmy Cordero pitched to two batters and got them both out, Wandy
Peralta pitched an inning giving up a walk and Clay Holmes pitched an inning giving
up two hits and a run with a strikeout.
Tommy Khanle pitched an innin giving up a hit and he struck out one and
Michael King pitched an inning giving up a hit and two runs with one being
earned. He struck out two batters and earned
his fourth loss of the season.
Dane Dunning started for the
Rangers and he pitched seven innings giving up five hits and two runs with two walks
and two strikeouts. John King pitched a
perfect inning with a strikeout, Joe Barlow pitched an inning giving up a hit
and he won his first game of the season and Will Smith pitched a perfect inning
with a strikeout and he earned his 14th save of the season.
Jake Bauers drew a walk, Rizzo had
two hits and DJ LeMahieu had a hit.
Kiner-Falefa had two hits, Billy McKinney had a hit and an RBI and Kyle
Higashioka had an RBI. Anthony Volpe
drew a walk, LeMahieu hit a double and the Yankees were 0-8 with runners in
scoring position and left four men on base.
Kiner-Falefa was caught stealing and committed an error and Peralta had
a pickoff.
Corey Seager had a hit and drew a
walk, Nathaniel Lowe had a hit and drew a walk and Adolis Garcia had a hit and had
two RBI. Josh Jung had a hit, Robbie
Grossman had a hit and Mitch Garver had two hits and an RBI. Ezequiel Duran had two hits, Leody Taveras
had a hit and Grossman, Jung and Seager each hit a double. Garcia hit a homerun and the Rangers were
3-11 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base. Seager was caught stealing and picked
off.
