Mets Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Florida Marlins tonight by the score of 7-4 at Citi Field. The Mets won the first game of the series yesterday. The Mets problem continues to be starting pitching, other then Johan Santana they are really struggling, John Maine pitched well yesterday but that was the first good game from someone other then Johan Santana that I can remember. The Mets will finish the series with the Marlins tomorrow afternoon with Josh Johnson going against Johan Santana, this should be a good matchup. The Mets other problem is the defense, Daniel Murphy just looks terrible out in the field but boy can he hit and Gary Sheffield is an adventure when he is out there. The Mets also don't really hit in the clutch and Carlos Delgado may be out for a while, not sure how long right now. The Mets also released Freddy Garcia today, he just wasn't getting the arm strength back and they had to let him go, it was worth the risk though that they signed him and tried to make it work.
