The New York Mets were defeated by
the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night.
The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score
was 3-1. Jake deGrom started for the
Mets and pitched ok and the bullpen was good.
Curtis Granderson had a couple of hits.
deGrom pitched 5 2/3 innings giving
up nine hits and three runs with a walk and four strikeouts. He lost his third game of the season. Josh Edgin faced one batter and retired him,
Carlos Torres pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and a walk with a
strikeout and Dana Eveland pitched 1/3 of an inning striking out one. Vic Black pitched an inning giving up a
walk.
Wily Peralta won his sixth game of
the season pitching 6 1/3 innings giving up four hits and a run with a walk and
three strikeouts. Zach Duke faced one
batter and retired him, Rob Wooten pitched to one batter and retired him and
Will Smith pitched an inning giving up a hit.
Francisco Rodriguez earned his 20th save of the season pitching a
perfect inning with a strikeout.
Daniel Murphy had a hit, Granderson
had two hits and Bobby Abreu had a hit.
Lucas Duda had an RBI, Andrew Brown had a hit and Granderson hit a
double. The Mets were 0-3 with runners
in scoring position and left four men on base.
Duda and Tejada each committed an error and den Dekker had an outfield
assist.
Scooter Gennett had two hits, Ryan
Braun had a hit and drew two walks and Jonathan Lucroy had three hits and an
RBI. Carlos Gomez had two hits and an
RBI, Aramis Ramirez had a hit and Khalil Davis had a hit. Mark Reynolds drew a walk, Jean Segura had a
hit and an RBI and Gennett, Ramirez and Lucroy each hit a double. The Brewers were 4-15 with runners in scoring
position and left 10 men on base.
Duda hit a sacrifice fly in the
second giving the Mets a 1-0 lead. In
the third LuCroy had an RBI groundout to tie the game at one. Segura hit an RBI single in the fourth to
give the Brewers a 2-1 lead. In the
fifth Gomez hit an RBI single to make it 3-1 and that is the way the score
would stay. The two teams will play the
rubber game of the three game series on Thursday night.
