New York Yankees outslug the Milwaukee Brewers as Judge nears 60

 

The New York Yankees defeated the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the final score was 12-8.  Gerrit Cole started for the Yankees and wasn’t very good.  Aaron Judge led the offense with four hits and four RBI. 

Cole pitched five innings giving up four hits and four runs with three walks and eight strikeouts.  Cole won his 12th game of the season.  Clarke Schmidt pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs with four strikeouts, Jonathan Loaisiga pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and Wandy Peralta didn’t record an out and gave up three hits and two runs.  Clay Holmes pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout. 

Jason Alexander pitched 3 2/3 innings giving up six hits and three runs with a walk and five strikeouts.  Hoby Milner pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and two runs with a walk and he took his third loss of the season.  Justin Topa pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two unearned runs and he walked one, Brent Suter pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and he struck out one and Luis Perdomo pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up four hits and three runs with a walk and a strikeout.  Trevor Kelley pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up three hits and two runs with two strikeouts. 

Judge had four hits, four RBI and drew a walk, Anthony Rizzo had three hits and an RBI and Gleyber Torres had a hit and drew a walk.  Josh Donaldson had a hit and drew a walk, Giancarlo Stanton had an RBI and Oswaldo Cabrera had three hits, two RBI and drew a walk.  Isiah Kiner-Falefa had a hit, Kyle Higashioka had a hit and three RBI and Aaron Hicks had two hits and an RBI.  Cabrera and Judge each hit a double and Cabrera, Rizzo and Hicks each hit a homerun.  Judge hit two homeruns, the Yankees were 3-13 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Torres was caught stealing. 

Christian Yelich had a hit and drew a walk, Willy Adames had two hits and drew a walk and Rowdy Tellez had a hit and two RBI.  Jace Peterson had a hit and two RBI, Hunter Renfroe drew a walk and Kolten Wong had three hits, three RBI and drew a walk.  Luis Urias had a hit, Tyrone Taylor had three hits and an RBI.  Wong, Taylor, Adames and Peterson each hit a double.  Wong, Taylor and Tellez each hit a homerun.  The Brewers were 4-15 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Adames had a stolen base and Wong committed an error. 

In the bottom of the first Wong hit a three-run homerun giving the Brewers a 3-0 lead.  In the second Cabrera hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 3-1.  In the bottom of the second Taylor hit a solo homerun extending the lead to 4-1.  In the third Judge hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 4-2.  Rizzo hit a solo homerun going back-to-back and making it a 4-3 game.  In the fifth Stanton reached on a fielder’s choice and the game was tied at four.  Cabrera hit an RBI single, Higashioka hit a two-run single and it was 7-4 Yankees.  In the seventh Higashioka hit an RBI groundout to push the lead to 8-4.  Hicks hit a solo homerun and it was 9-4 Yankees.  Judge hit a solo homerun, his second of the game and 59th of the season to make it 10-4.  In the bottom of the eighth Tellez hit a two-run homerun cutting the lead to 10-6.  In the ninth Judge hit a two-run double making it 12-6 and in the bottom of the ninth Peterson hit a two-run double making it 12-8 which would be the final score. 

The Yankees will be off on Monday and then begin a two-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night. 

New York Yankees offense shutdown in loss to the Brewers

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night.  The game took place at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the final score was 4-1.  Jameson Taillon started for the Yankees and he pitched just ok, the bullpen was good.  The Yankees offense was very limited by Woodruff the Milwaukee pitcher. 

Taillon pitched five innings giving up four hits and four runs.  He walked two and struck out four and lost his fifth game of the season.  Greg Weissert pitched a perfect inning, Aroldis Chapman pitched an inning with a walk and a strikeout and Ron Marinaccio pitched an inning with a walk and three strikeouts. 

Brandon Woodruff won his 11th game of the season pitching eight inning and giving up five hits and a run with a walk and ten strikeouts.  Devin Williams pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts and saved his 13th game of the season. 

Aaron Judge had a hit and drew a walk, Gleyber Torres had a hit and Josh Donaldson had a hit and an RBI.  Oswald Peraza had a hit, Aaron Hicks had a hit and Torres and Judge each hit a double.  Donaldson hit a homerun and the Yankees were 0-8 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Peraza and Hicks each had a stolen base. 

Christian Yelich had two hits and an RBI, Willy Adames had a hit, three RBI and drew a walk and Hunter Renfroe drew a walk.  Luis Urias drew a walk, Victor Caratini drew a walk and Garrett Mitchell had a hit.  Yelich hit a double and Adames hit a homerun.  The Brewers were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Adames had a stolen base and he committed an error. 

In the bottom of the third Adames hit a three-run homerun to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead.  In the fourth Donaldson hit a solo homerun cutting the lead to 3-1.  In the bottom of the fifth Yelich hit an RBI double extending the lead to 4-1.  4-1 would be the final score and the Yankees will try to salvage the final game of the series on Sunday afternoon.   

New York Yankees blow lead and lose on a walk-off in the ninth to the Brewers

 

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night.  The game took place at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the final score was 7-6.  Frankie Montas started for the Yankees and he wasn’t very good, the bullpen was good.  Aaron Judge, Gleyber Torres, Oswaldo Cabrera and Aaron Hicks each had two hits. 

Montas pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up four hits and four runs with four walks and two strikeouts.  Lucas Luetge pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run, Greg Weissert pitched to one batter and struck him out and Domingo German pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts.  Wandy Peralta pitched to one batter and struck him out, Lou Trivino pitched an inning with three strikeouts, Jonathan Loaisiga pitched an inning giving up a hit and an unearned run with a walk and Clay Holmes lost his fourth game of the season pitching 2/3 of an inning and giving up two hits and a run with two walks and a strikeout. 

Adrian Houser started for the Brewers and he pitched three innings giving up seven hits and five runs with four of them being earned.  He walked four and struck out one.  Peter Strzelecki pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with two strikeouts, Justin Topa pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and striking out two and Hoby Milner pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a walk and a strikeout.  Brad Boxberger pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts, Devin Williams pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts and Taylor Rogers pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout and he earned his fourth win and blew his ninth save of the season. 

Judge had two hits and drew a walk, Giancarlo Stanton drew a walk and Torres had two hits.  Josh Donaldson had a hit and three RBI, Cabrera had two hits and drew three walks and Isiah Kiner-Falefa had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  Marwin Gonzalez had a hit and an RBI, Hicks had two hits and Torres, Hicks and Cabrera each hit a double.  Donaldson hit a homerun and the Yankees were 2-11 with runners in scoring position and left 11 men on base.  Kiner-Falefa committed an error. 

Christian Yelich had a hit and drew a walk, Willy Adames had two hits, four RBI and drew a walk and Rowdy Tellez had an RBI.  Hunter Renfroe had two hits, Kolten Wong had a hit and Andrew McCutchen drew two walks.  Jace Peterson drew two walks, Omar Narvaez had two hits and Victor Caratini drew a walk.  Garrett Mitchell had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk.  Adames, Narvaez and Renfroe each hit a double.  Adames hit a homerun and the Brewers were 4-16 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base.  Wong committed an error and Narvaez had a passed ball. 

In the first Donaldson hit a sac fly and Kiner-Falefa hit an RBI single, Gonzalez hit an RBI single and it was 3-0 Yankees.  In the second Donaldson hit into a forceout and there was an error, two runs scored and the lead was extended to 5-0.  In the bottom of the second Adames hit a three-run homerun cutting the lead to 5-3.  In the bottom of the fourth Adames hit an RBI double and it was a 5-4 game.  Tellez hit a sac fly to tie the game at five.  In the bottom of the eighth Adames reached on a fielding error and a run scored making it 6-5 Brewers.  In the ninth Donaldson hit a solo homerun tying the game at six.  In the bottom of the ninth Mitchell hit an RBI walk-off single.  The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday night.

New York Mets are shutout by the Milwaukee Brewers in Game two of doubleheader

 

The New York Mets were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night in game two of their doubleheader.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 5-0.  Robert Stock started for the Mets and he pitched ok.  The Mets offense managed three hits.   

Stock started for the Mets and pitched four innings giving up four hits and two runs.  He walked two and struck out five and took his second loss of the season.  Drew Smith pitched two innings giving up a hit and a run with a walk and three strikeouts, Miguel Castro pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and two runs and Yennsy Diaz pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

Brett Anderson started for the Brewers and he pitched four innings giving up three hits and no runs with no walks and a strikeout.  Jake Cousins pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and earned his first win of the season, Brad Boxberger pitched an inning with three walks and three strikeouts and Hunter Strickland pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout. 

Jonathan Villar drew a walk, Francisco Lindor had a hit and Dom Smith had a hit.  James McCann had a hit, Brandon Nimmo drew a walk and Jeff McNeil drew a walk.  The Mets were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base. 

Luis Urias had two hits and two RBI, Christian Yelich had a hit and drew a walk and Willy Adames had a hit and an RBI.  Rowdy Tellez had a hit, Jace Peterson had a hit and drew two walks and Manny Pina had a hit and two RBI.  Pina, Adames and Urias each hit a homerun.  The Brewers were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base. 

In the second Pina hit a two-run homerun to give the Brewers a 2-0 lead.  In the sixth Adames hit a solo homerun pushing the lead to 3-0.  In the seventh Urias hit a two-run homerun extending the lead to 5-0 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams split the doubleheader and the Mets will remain home to take on the Pirates on Thursday night. 

New York Mets defeat the Milwaukee Brewers in Game one of a doubleheader in walk-off fashion

 

The New York Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers in Game one of their doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 4-3.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he pitched well.  Pete Alonso and Jeff McNeil led the offense with two hits each. 

deGrom pitched seven innings giving up four hits and two runs with no walks and ten strikeouts.  Edwin Diaz pitched an inning giving up an unearned run and two walks with two strikeouts.  Diaz picked up his third win of the season. 

Corbin Burnes started for the Brewers and he pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up six hits and a run with no walks and eight strikeouts.  Devin Williams pitched to one batter and retired him, Josh Hader pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts and blew his first save of the season and Brent Suter pitched giving up a hit and two runs with one being earned and he didn’t record an out.  He also gave up a walk.

In the first Urias hit a solo homerun giving the Brewers a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first Lindor hit an RBI single to tie the game at one.  In the fifth Peterson hit a solo homerun giving the Brewers a 2-1 lead.  In the bottom of the seventh Peraza hit a solo homerun to tie the game at two.  In the eighth Yelich was hit by a pitch and a run scored to give the Brewers back the lead at 3-2.  In the bottom of the eighth McNeil hit a two-run walk-off single to give the Mets a 4-3 victory.

New York Mets are swept by the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Mets were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the final score was 3-2.  Jason Vargas started for the Mets and he pitched ok, the bullpen pitched well.  Amed Rosario had three hits to lead the offense. 

Vargas pitched four innings giving up three hits and three runs with five strikeouts.  Vargas lost his second game of the season.  Tim Peterson pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out one, Daniel Zamora pitched to one batter and got him out and Tyler Bashlor pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and drew a walk and struck out two. 

Zach Davies won his fourth game of the season pitching 7 2/3 innings giving up six hits and two runs with a walk and five strikeouts.  Matt Albers pitched to one batter and struck him out and Josh Hader pitched a perfect inning striking out the side and earning his ninth save of the season. 

Rosario had three hits, Keon Broxton had a hit and Juan Lagares had a hit and an RBI.  Tomas Nido had a hit and an RBI.  Michael Conforto drew a walk, Broxton hit a double and Rosario hit a double.  Lagares hit a homerun and the Mets were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.  Rosario was caught stealing. 

Lorenzo Cain had an RBI, Ben Gamel had a hit and Christian Yelich had a hit and two RBI.  Jesus Aguilar had a hit, Manny Pina had a hit and Orlando Arcia had a hit.  Eric Thames drew a walk, Arcia, Pina and Aguilar each hit a double.  Yelich hit a homerun and the Brewers were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base. 

In the third Cain hit a sac fly to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead.  Yelich hit a two-run homerun and it was 3-0 Brewers.  In the fifth Nido hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 3-1 and in the seventh Lagares hit a solo homerun to make it 3-2 and that would be the final score of the game. 

The Mets were swept in the three- game series and will begin a three-game series at the Padres on Monday night. 

New York Mets lose in 18 innings to the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Mets were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night.  The game took place at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the final score was 4-3 in 18 innings.  Zach Wheeler started for the Mets and he pitched well, the bullpen also pitched very well. Jeff McNeil had three hits and Pete Alonso had two hits to lead the offense. 

Wheeler pitched seven innings giving up six hits and two runs with a walk and ten strikeouts.  Daniel Zamora pitched a perfect inning, Seth Lugo pitched three innings giving up a hit and he struck out two and Edwin Diaz pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout.  Drew Gagnon pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit, Ryan O’Rourke pitched 2/3 of an inning walking two and Robert Gsellman pitched three innings giving up a hit and he struck out four.  Chris Flexen pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up two hits and two runs with four walks and a strikeout and he lost his second game of the season. 

Gio Gonzalez pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up three hits and a run with seven strikeouts, Matt Albers pitched 1 2/3 innings with three strikeouts and Junior Guerra pitched two innings giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts.  Jeremy Jeffress pitched a perfect inning, Corbin Burnes pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up a hit and he struck out one and Alex Claudio pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up wo hits and he struck out one.  Adrian Houser pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a walk and Taylor Williams pitched four innings giving up three hits and a run with three strikeouts and he won his first game of the season. 

McNeil had three hits and an RBI, Alonso had two hits and an RBI and Michael Conforto had a hit and drew a walk.  Wilson Ramos had a hit, Amed Rosario had a hit and an RBI and Adeiny Hechavarria had two hits.  Rosario hit a triple and Alonso hit a homerun.  The Mets were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Hechavarria had a stolen base, Wheeler committed an error and Rosario committed two errors.  Ramos had a pickoff. 

Lorenzo Cain had a hit and an RBI, Eric Thames drew three walks and Mike Moustakas had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk.  Yasmani Grandal drew a walk, Travis Shaw drew a walk and Ryan Braun had six hits and two RBI.  Ben Gamel had a hit and drew a walk, Orlando Arcia had a hit and Hernan Perez had a hit.  Moustakas hit a double and Braun hit two homeruns.  The Brewers were 3-14 with runners in scoring position and left 13 men on base.  Thames was caught stealing and Braun had an outfield assist. 
In the second Rosario hit an RBI triple to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the third Cain hit an RBI single to tie the game at one.  Moustakas hit an RBI double and it was 2-1 Brewers.  In the ninth Alonso hit a solo homerun to tie the game at two.  In the top of the 18th McNeil hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 3-2 lead and in the bottom of the 18th Braun hit a two-run walk-off single to give the Brewers a 4-

New York Mets lose to the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Mets were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 3-1.  Steven Matz started for the Mets and he pitched well, the bullpen was good.  Michael Conforto had two hits to lead the offense.

Matz pitched 5 2/3 innings giving up nine hits and three runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  Matz lost his second game of the season.  Robert Gsellman pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a walk, Luis Avilan pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Drew Gagnon pitched to one batter and got him out. 

Brandon Woodruff pitched five innings giving up six hits and a run with two walks and seven strikeouts.  Woodruff won his fourth game of the season.  Alex Claudio pitched a perfect inning,Junior Guerra pitched a perfect inning and Josh Hader pitched two innings giving up a hit and a walk with five strikeouts. 

Jeff McNeil had a hit, Pete Alonso had a hit and Robinson Cano drew a walk.  Conforto had two hits, Wilson Ramos had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Brandon Nimmo drew a walk.  Amed Rosario had a hit, Matz had a hit and Conforto hit a double and the Mets were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Rosario had a stolen base and McNeil was caught stealing. 

Lorenzo Cain had a hit and an RBI, Yasmani Grandal drew two walks and Ryan Braun had three hits and two RBI.  Mike Moustakas had two hits, Hernan Perez had three hits and Woodruff had a hit.  Moustakas and Perez each hit a double and Braun and Cain each hit a homerun.  The Brewers were 1-9 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Perez and Braun each had a stolen base and Aguilar committed an error. 

In the first Ramos hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the bottom of the first Cain hit a solo homerun tying the game at one.  In the fifth Braun hit a two-run homerun to give the Brewers a 3-1 lead and that would be the final score of the game.

New York Mets salvage final game of series vs. the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 5-2.  Steven Matz started for the Mets and he pitched well.  The Mets bullpen also pitched well and Todd Frazier had two hits to lead the offense. 

Matz pitched seven innings giving up five hits and two runs with no walks and four strikeouts.  Matz won his third game of the season.  Seth Lugo pitched an inning with three strikeouts and Edwin Diaz saved his eighth game of the season pitching an inning with a strikeout. 

Gio Gonzalez pitched five innings giving up six hits and two runs with a walk and two strikeouts.  Matt Albers pitched an inning with two strikeouts, Jacob Barnes pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up an unearned run and a walk with a strikeout and Alex Claudio pitched giving up a hit and a walk without recording an out.  Aaron Wilkerson pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up two hits and two runs with two walks and two strikeouts.

In the first Frazier hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the second Rosario hit an RBI double and it was 2-0 Mets.  In the seventh Moustakas hit a two-run homerun to tie the game at two.  In the bottom of the seventh Davis hit an RBI single giving the Mets a 3-2 lead.  In the eighth Nido hit a two-run double to push the Mets lead to 5-2 and that would be the final score. 

The Mets were able to salvage the final game of the series after losing the first two.  They will begin a four-game series at home on Monday vs. the Reds. 

New York Mets lose second straight to the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Mets were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 8-6.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and didn’t pitch well.  Pete Alonso and Brandon Nimmo each had three hits to lead the Mets offense. 

Syndergaard started for the Mets and pitched five innings giving up 10 hits and five runs with three walks and five strikeouts.  Syndergaard lost his third game of the season.  Robert Gsellman pitched two innings giving up two hits and a run with two walks and two strikeouts, Jeurys Familia pitched an inning giving up two hits and two runs with a walk and a strikeout.  Edwin Diaz pitched a perfect inning with three strikeouts. 

Brandon Woodruff pitched five innings giving up six hits and a run with a walk and six strikeouts.  He won his third game of the season.  Junior Guerra pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout, Alex Wilson pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs with a walk and Alex Claudio pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs with a strikeout.  Jeremy Jeffress pitched giving up two hits and a run with a walk and Josh Hader pitched two perfect innings with five strikeouts and he saved his sixth game of the season.

Davis had a hit and drew a walk, Nimmo had three hits and Amed Rosario had two hits and two RBI.  Travis d’Arnaud had a hit, Dom Smith drew a walk and Alonso and Rosario each hit a homerun.  The Mets were 2-12 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  McNeil was caught stealing.  Conforto and Alonso each committed an error and Conforto had an outfield assist.  d’Arnaud had a passed ball. 

Lorenzo Cain had three hits, Christian Yelich had three hits, two RBI and drew a walk and Mike Moustakas had two hits and an RBI.  Yasmani Grandal had a hit, an RBI an drew a walk, Travis Shaw drew a walk and Eric Thames had two hits, two RBI and drew a walk.  Orlando Arcia had a hit, Ben Gamel had two hits, an RBI and drew two walks.  Gamel hit a double and a homerun and Yelich hit a homerun and the Brewers were 3-14 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base. Moustakas, Grandal and Yelich each had a stolen base.  Cain was caught stealing, Moustakas committed an error and Gamel had an outfield assist.  Grandal had a passed ball. 

In the first Moustakas had an RBI ground out to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead.  In the third Thames hit a two-run single to push the lead to 3-0 for the Brewers.  In the bottom of the third Conforto drew an RBI walk to cut the lead to 3-1.  In the fourth Gamel hit a homerun and Yelich hit a solo homerun to push their lead to 5-1.  In the sixth Moustakas hit an RBI single and it was 6-1.  In the seventh Rosario hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 6-2.  Alonso hit a three-run homerun and it was 6-5.  In the eighth Yelich hit an RBI single and Grandal hit an RBI ground out to extend their lead to 8-5.  In the bottom of the eighth Rosario hit an RBI single and it was 8-6 and that would be the final score. 

The two teams will complete their three-game series on Sunday afternoon.

The New York Mets are thumped by the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Mets were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 10-2.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch well.  The bullpen also didn’t pitch well and the offense was led by Jeff McNeil, Robinson Cano and Brandon Nimmo who each had two hits. 

deGrom pitched four innings giving up five hits and five runs with three walks and seven strikeouts.  deGrom lost his third game of the season.  Corey Oswalt pitched three innings giving up three hits and four runs with two walks and three strikeouts, Luis Avilan pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout and Daniel Zamora pitched an inning with three strikeouts. 

Chase Anderson pitched pitched 4 2/3 innings giving up five hits and two runs with three walks and four strikeouts.  Matt Albers pitched 1 1/3 innings with two strike-outs and he won his second game of the season, Jacob Barnes pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout and Jake Petricka pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out one. 

McNeil had two hits, Pete Alonso drew a walk and Cano had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk.  Michael Conforto drew a walk, Nimmo had two hits and Todd Frazier had a hit and an RBI.  Amed Rosario drew a walk, Cano and Nimmo each hit a double and McNeil had two doubles.  The Mets were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Ramos had a passed ball.

In the third Moustakas hit an RBI single and Thames hit a two-run double to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead.  Arcia hit a two-run single and it was 5-0 Brewers.  In the fourth Frazier hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 5-1.  In the fifth Cain hit a three-run homerun to push the lead to 8-1.  Yelich hit an RBI single to make it 9-1.  In the bottom of the fifth Cano hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 9-2.  In the eighth Moustakas hit a two-run double and it was 10-2 which was the final score of the game.

New York Mets walk-off against the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 3-2.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and he pitched well.  The Mets bullpen pitched really well and Brandon Nimmo had three hits to lead the offense. 

Syndergaard pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up two hits and an unearned run.  He walked one and struck out 11.  Robert Gsellman pitched an inning giving up two hits and an unearned run with a walk and two strikeouts, AJ Ramos pitched 1/3 of an inning with two walks and Jerry Blevins pitched to one batter and retired him.  Hansel Robles pitched an inning with a strikeout and Jeurys Familia won his first game of the season pitching an inning and giving up a walk with two strikeouts. 

Jhoulys Chacin pitched four innings giving up five hits and a run with three walks and four strikeouts.  Taylor Williams pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and a run with three walks and two strikeouts, Jeremy Jeffress pitched 1 1/3 innings with two strikeouts and Dan Jennings pitched an inning with two strikeouts.  Matt Albers pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout and he lost his first game of the season. 

Nimmo had three hits and an RBI, Michael Conforto had a hit and drew a walk and Todd Frazier had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks.  Wilmer Flores had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Amed Rosario drew a walk and Jay Bruce drew a walk.  Syndergaard had a hit which was a double, Nimmo hit a triple and a homerun and Flores hit a homerun and the Mets were 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base.  Flores and Rosario each committed an error. 

Jonathan Villar drew two walks, Jesus Aguilar had a hit and Lorenzo Cain drew three walks.  Domingo Santana had a hit, Hernan Perez had a hit and Jett Bandy had a hit.  The Brewers were 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Perez and Villar each had a stolen base and Villar committed an error. 

In the first Frazier hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the sixth Perez reached on a throwing error and two runs scored to give the Brewers a 2-1 lead.  In the sixth Nimmo hit a solo homerun to tie the game at two.  In the ninth Flores hit a solo homerun to walk-off and give the Mets a 3-2 victory.

The New York Mets were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 5-1.  Matt Harvey started for the Mets and he didn’t pitch very well.  The bullpen did their job and the offense only managed three hits. 

Harvey pitched five innings giving up eight hits and four runs with a walk and six strikeouts and took his first loss of the season.  Paul Sewald pitched three perfect innings with five strikeouts and Hansel Robles pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run with two strikeouts. 

Chase Anderson pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up two hits and a run with two walks and five strikeouts.  Anderson earned his first win of the season.  Jeremy Jeffress pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and Josh Hader pitched two perfect innings with five strikeouts and he saved his first game of the season. 

Yoenis Cespedes had a hit and an RBI, Todd Frazier had a hit and drew a walk and Amed Rosario had a hit.  Jose Lobaton drew a walk and the Mets were 1-2 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base.

New York Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 6-5.  Steven Matz started for the Mets and he pitched ok and the bullpen was good.  Todd Frazier had three hits including two homeruns to lead the offense. 

Matz pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up three hits and four runs with three of them being earned.  He walked two and struck out five and won his first game of the season.  Seth Lugo pitched two innings giving up six hits and a run, AJ Ramos pitched to one batter and retired him and Jerry Blevins pitched to one batter giving up a hit.  Robert Gsellman pitched to one batter and retired him and Jeurys Familia pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout and earned his seventh save of the season. 

Zach Davies pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and five runs.  He walked two and struck out four and lost his second game of the season.  Dan Jennings pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a walk, Oliver Drake pitched an inning with three strikeouts and Jacob Barnes pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out two. 

Michael Conforto drew a walk, Asdrubal Cabrera had two hits and Yoenis Cespedes had two hits and an RBI.  Jay Bruce had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Adrian Gonzalez had an RBI and Frazier had three hits, two RBI and drew a walk.  Jose Lobaton had a hit, Cabrera and Bruce each hit a double.  Lobaton hit a triple and Frazier hit two homeruns.  The Mets were 2-6 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Bruce committed an error, Cespedes had an outfield assist.

In the first Cespedes hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the second Frazier hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 2-0.  In the fourth Perez hit a two-run homerun to tie the game at two.  In the fourth Frazier hit a solo homerun to give the Mets a 3-2 lead.  In the fifth Bruce hit an RBI double to push the lead to 4-2.  Gonzalez hit a sac fly and a wild pitch made it 6-2 Mets.  In the sixth Braun hit a two-run homerun to cut the lead to 6-4 and in the eighth Shaw hit a solo homerun to make it a 6-5 game and that was the final score. 

The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday night.

New York Yankees drop another series, this time to the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Yankees were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 5-3.  Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and wasn’t very good, the bullpen was great.  Chase Headley had two hits to lead the offense and Clint Frazier hit a homerun. 

Tanaka pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up six hits and five runs with a walk and five strikeouts and lost his eighth game of the season.  Chasen Shreve pitched giving up a hit and not recording an out, Adam Warren pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a hit and a walk with three strikeouts and Tyler Webb pitched to one batter and retired him.  Chad Green pitched two perfect innings with four strikeouts and Aroldis Chapman pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout. 

Jimmy Nelson pitched five innings giving up seven hits and three runs.  He walked two and struck out six and won his eighth game of the season.  Carlos Torres pitched 2/3 of an inning with a strikeout, Oliver Drake pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two and Jared Hughes pitched 1 1/3 innings giving up a walk and striking out two.  Corey Knebel pitched 1 1/3 innings with two walks and three strikeouts and earned his 14th save of the season. 

Brett Gardner had a hit and drew two walks, Aaron Judge had a hit and drew a walk and Gary Sanchez had a hit.  Jacoby Ellsbury had a hit and drew a walk, Headley had two hits and an RBI and Frazier had a hit and two RBI.  Ji-Man Choi drew a walk, Tyler Wade had a hit and Wade hit a double and Frazier hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 1-16 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base.  Ellsbury had a stolen base and Gardner had two stolen bases.  Chapman had a pickoff. 

Jonathan Villar had three hits, Eric Thames had two hits and Domingo Santana had a hit and drew a walk.  Travis Shaw had two hits, four RBI and drew a walk, Stephen Vogt had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Shaw and Vogt each hit a homerun.  The Brewers were 2-8 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Broxton had a stolen base and Villar was caught stealing. 

In the first Shaw hit a three-run homerun to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead.  In the second Vogt hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 4-0.  In the bottom of the fourth Headley hit an RBI single to cut the lead to 4-1.  Frazier hit a two-run homerun and it was 4-3.  In the fifth Shaw hit an RBI single to make it 5-3 and that would be the final score.  The Yankees had their chances but couldn’t capitalize and also got unlucky.  They had Headley miss a three-run homerun by inches that was originally ruled a homer but overturned on replay and then the right fielder made a great catch on Sanchez which probably would of tied the game.  The Yankees are limping into the break but need it bad.  They expect to have both Matt Holliday and Starlin Castro back for the series in Boston that will begin on Friday night.  It is a very important four game set as the Yankees are in second place by 3 ½ games behind the Red Sox and in the first wild card spot.

New York Yankees win on dramatic walk-off victory over the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Yankees defeated the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday afternoon.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 5-3.  Luis Severino started for the Yankees and after a rough start really pitched well.  Clint Frazier had three hits and four RBI to lead the offense. 

Severino pitched seven innings giving up six hits and three runs.  He walked two and struck out ten.  Dellin Betances pitched a perfect inning with a couple of strikeouts and Aroldis Chapman pitched a perfect inning striking out the side and earning his second win of the season. 

Brent Suter pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up five hits and two runs with a walk and five strikeouts.  Jared Hughes pitched to two batters and retired them both, Jacob Barnes pitched a perfect inning with a  couple of strikeouts and Corey Knebel pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and three runs with two walks and a strikeout.  Knebel blew his fourth save of the season and lost his second game of the season. 

Aaron Judge had a hit and drew a walk, Didi Gregorius drew a walk and Chase Headley had a hit.  Jacoby Ellsbury had a hit and drew a walk, Frazier was the star of the game with three hits and four RBI and Headley hit a double and Frazier hit a triple and a walk-off homerun.  The Yankees were 3-6 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Severino committed an error. 

Jonathan Villar had two hits, Eric Thames had a hit and Travis Shaw had a hit.  Domingo Santana had a hit, three RBI and drew a walk.  Jesus Aguilar had a hit and drew a walk, Thames hit a double and Santana hit a homerun and the Brewers were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Arcia and Suter each committed an error. 

In the first Santana hit a three-run homerun to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead.  In the seventh a throwing error gave the Yankees a runs and Frazier hit an RBI triple to cut the lead to 3-2.  In the ninth Frazier hit a walk-off three run homerun to give the Yankees the 5-3 victory. 

The two teams will play the rubber game of their three game series on Sunday afternoon. 


The New York Yankees blow lead again as bullpen blows up


The New York Yankees were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 9-4.  Jordan Montgomery started for the Yankees and he pitched ok but had to leave after a lengthy rain delay.  The offense only managed four hits. 

Montgomery pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up seven hits and two runs with four strikeouts.  Tyler Webb pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and two runs with a walk, Tyler Clippard lost his fifth game of the season pitching 1 2/3 innings and giving up a hit and four runs with three walks and a strikeout.  Chasen Shreve pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and a run with a walk and Luis Cessa pitched two scoreless innings giving up three hits. 

Junior Guerra pitched 3 1/3 innings giving up two hits and three runs with one of them being earned.  He walked three and struck out three.  Josh Hader won his first game of the season pitching three innings and giving up a hit and a run with two walks and seven strikeouts, Jared Hughes pitched to two batters and retired them both and Oliver Drake pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one.  Jacob Barnes pitched an inning giving up a walk and he struck out one.

In the second Frazier hit a sac fly to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the fourth Aguilar hit a two-run homerun to give the Brewers a 2-1 lead.  In the fourth Choi hit a two-run homerun to make it 3-2 Yankees.  Judge hit a solo homerun in the fifth to push the lead to 4-2.  In the sixth a wild pitch cut the lead to 4-3, Aguilar hit a sac fly to tie the game and then in the seventh Aguilar hit a grand slam to give the Brewers an 8-4 lead.  Pina hit an RBI single to extend the lead to 9-4 and that would be the final score.  The two teams will play game two of three on Saturday afternoon.

New York Mets lose a close one to the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Mets were defeated by the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 2-1.  Zach Wheeler started for the Mets and he gave up a lot of hits but was able to limit the damage.  Lucas Duda had two of the teams four hits. 

Wheeler pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up ten hits and two runs with a walk and six strikeouts.  Wheeler lost his third game of the season.  Jerry Blevins pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout and Fernando Salas pitched two innings giving up a walk and he struck out five. 

Chase Anderson pitched seven innings giving up three hits and no runs.  He walked one and struck out seven and won his fourth game of the season.  Jacob Barnes pitched an inning giving up a hit and a run and Corey Knebel pitched an inning with a walk and two strikeouts and saved his fourth game of the season. 

Neil Walker drew a walk, Duda had two hits and Curtis Granderson drew a walk.  Wilmer Flores had a hit and an RBI, Travis d’Arnaud had a hit and Flores hit a homerun.  The Mets were 1-2 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Duda committed an error.

In the third Perez hit an RBI double to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead.  In the fourth Franklin had an RBI single to make it 2-0.  In the eighth Flores hit a solo homerun to cut the lead to 2-1 and that would be the final score. 

The Mets will kick off a three game set with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night at Citi Field.

New York Mets are slugged by the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 7-1.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he pitched terrible.  The bullpen was good and the offense was led by Curtis Granderson with two hits. 

deGrom pitched four innings giving up eight hits and seven runs with five walks and six strikeouts.  deGrom lost his second game of the season.  Josh Edgin pitched three innings giving up two hits and he struck out three and Neil Ramirez pitched two innings giving up three walks and he struck out three. 

Junior Guerra pitched six innings giving up four hits and no runs.  He walked three and struck out four and won his first game of the season.  Jared Huges pitched an inning giving up a hit and a walk with a strikeout, Oliver Drake pitched an inning with a strikeout and Rob Scahill pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout.

In the first Thames hit a two-run homerun and it was 2-0 Brewers.  In the second Broxton hit a solo homerun to push the lead to 3-0.  In the fourth Aguilar hit an RBI double making it a 4-0 game.  Perez hit a two-run single and the lead was 6-0.  Pina hit an RBI ground out and it was 7-0 and in the ninth Conforto hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 7-1 and that was the final score. 

The two teams will play the fourth and final game of their series on Thursday afternoon.

New York Mets walk-off with a win in 12 innings


The New York Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 5-4 in 12 innings.  Tyler Pill started for the Mets and he pitched well.  Asdrubal Cabrera had three hits to lead the offense. 

Pill pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up six hits and a run.  He walked three and struck out four.  Fernando Salas pitched an inning giving up a hit and three runs with one of them being earned.  He walked wo and struck out one, Jerry Blevins pitched 2/3 of an inning walking one and striking out two and Josh Edgin pitched an inning with a walk.  Addison Reed pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two, Josh Smoker won his first game of the season pitching three innings giving up two hits and he walked one and struck out four.

Rivera had a hit, Granderson, Cabrera and Walker each hit a double and Duda hit a homerun.  The Mets were 4-9 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Cabrera committed an error. 

Keon Broxton drew a walk, Eric Thames had two hits and drew two walks and Hernan Perez had two hits.  Travis Shaw had two hits and an RBI, Domingo Santana had an RBI and drew a walk.  Jett Bandy drew a walk, Jonathan Villar drew a walk and Manny Pina had a hit.  Orlando Arcia had three hits, Eric Sogard drew two walks and Shaw hit a double.  Thames hit a triple and the Brewers were 2-15 with runners in scoring position and left 14 men on base.  Villar was caught stealing. 

In the first Shaw hit an RBI double to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead.  In the fifth Cabrera hit an RBI double to tie the game at one.  Reyes drew an RBI walk to make it 2-1.  In the sixth Duda hit a two-run homerun to make it 4-1.  In the seventh Santana drew an RBI walk to cut the lead to 4-2.  Bandy reached on a fielding error by Cabrera and it was a tie game at four.  In the 12th Bruce hit an RBI walk-off single to give the Mets a 5-4 victory.
