The New York
Mets defeated the Washington Nationals on Friday night. The game took place at Citi Field in
Flushing, New York and the final score was 7-6.
Marcus Stroman started for the Mets and he pitched ok. Ahmed Rosario had three hits and Michael
Conforto and J.D. Davis each had two to lead the offense.
Stroman
pitched six innings giving up nine hits and four runs. He walked three and struck out nine. Justin Wilson pitched an inning giving up two
hits and a run with two strikeouts, Robert Gsellman pitched 1 1/3 innings
giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout and Luis Avilan won his third
game of the season pitching 2/3 of an inning and striking out two.
Stephen
Strasburg pitched seven innings giving up four hits and three runs with two
walks and six strikeouts. Daniel Hudson pitched an inning and gave up a
hit and he struck out one and Sean Doolittle pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up
six hits and four runs and he lost his fourth game of the season and blew his
fifth save of the season.
Jeff McNeil
drew a walk, Rosario had three hits and Conforto had two hits and an RBI. Pete Alonso had a hit and two RBI, Davis had
two hits and an RBI and Wilson Ramos had a hit and drew a walk. Todd Frazier had a hit and three RBI. Joe Panik had a hit, Rosario and Davis each
hit a double. Alonso, Davis and Frazier each
hit a homerun and the Nationals were 4-10 with runners in scoring position and
left six men on base. Conforto had a
stolen base.
Trea Turner
had two hits and drew two walks, Adam Eaton had three hits and Anthony Rendon
had two hits and three RBI. Juan Soto
had three hits and two RBI, Matt Adams had two hits and Victor Robles had a hit
and drew a walk. Soto hit a double and
Rendon hit a triple. Soto and Rendon each
hit a homerun and the Nationals were 2-13 with runners in scoring position and
left 8 men on base. Turner, Soto and
Eaton each had a stolen base and Robles was caught stealing.
In the fourth
Rendon hit an RBI triple and Soto hit a two-run homerun to give the Nationals a
3-0 lead. In the bottom of the fourth
Alonso hit a two-run homerun to cut the lead to 3-2. Davis hit a solo homerun and the game was
tied at three. In the seventh Rendon hit
a two-run homerun to give the Nationals a 5-3 lead. In the ninth a wild pitch made it 6-3
Nationals. In the bottom of the ninth
Frazier hit a three-run homerun to tie the game and Conforto hit an RBI single
to win the game and give the Mets a 7-6 victory.
