The New York Mets were defeated by
the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night. The
game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was
3-0. Marcus Stroman started for the Mets
and he only pitched an inning and left with an injury. The Mets bullpen pitched pretty well and the
offense only managed two hits.
Stroman pitched an inning giving up
two walks. Yennsy Diaz pitched two
innings giving up three hits and three runs with two walks and three strikeouts
and lost his first game of the season.
Drew Smith pitched two innings giving up a walk and he struck out three,
Aaron Loup pitched three innings giving up a hit and he struck out four and
Trevor May pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out two.
Charlie Morton started for the Braves
and he pitched seven innings giving up a hit and two walks with 11
strikeouts. Morton won his seventh game
of the season. A.J. Minter pitched an
inning with a strikeout and Will Smith saved his 15th game of the
season pitching an inning and giving up a hit.
Billy McKinney drew a walk, James
McCann had a hit and Luis Guillorme drew a walk. Jerad Eickhoff had a hit, McCann hit a double
and the Mets were 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left six men on
base.
Freddie Freeman drew a walk, Ozzie Albies
had two hits and Abraham Almonte drew two walks. Austin Riley drew a walk, Dansby Swanson had
two hits and three RBI and William Contreras drew a walk. Ender Inciarte had a hit, Swanson hit a
homerun and the Braves were 1-9 with runners in scoring position and left seven
men on base. Albies had two stolen
bases.
In the third Swanson hit a
three-run homerun giving the Braves a 3-0 lead and that would be the final
score.
