New York Yankees are shutout by the Philadelphia Phillies

 The New York Yankees were defeated by the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday afternoon.  The game took

place at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the final score was 7-0.  Domingo German

hits to lead the offense.  

German pitched 4 1/3 innings giving up ten hits and seven runs with a walk and two strikeouts.  He lost 

his fourth game of the season.  Wandy Peralta pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit, Lucas Luetge

pitched two innings giving up a hit and he struck out two and Jonathan Loaisiga pitched a perfect inning

with a strikeout.  

Aaron Nola started for the Phillies and he pitched 7 2/3 innings giving up three hits and no runs.  He

walked one and struck out nine and won his fifth game of the season.  Connor Brogdon pitched to one

batter and got him out and Enyel De Los Santos pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out

two.  

LeMahieu had two hits, Gleyber Torres had a hit and Roughned Odor had a hit.  Clint Frazier drew a

walk, Odor and Torres each hit a double and the Yankees were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and 

left four men on base.  LeMahieu committed an error.  

Odubel Herrera had two hits and an RBI, Jean Segura had three hits and two RBI and JT Realmuto 

had two hits and two RBI.  Bryce Harper had a hit, Andrew McCutchen had two hits and two RBI and

Alec Bohm had a hit.  Nola had a hit and drew a walk, McCutchen hit two doubles and Herrera hit a 

Segura hit a triple and the Phillies were 6-13 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.

In the first Realmuto hit an RBI single to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead.  In the second Herrera hit an 

RBI double pushing the lead to 2-0.  Segura hit a two-run single and it was 4-0 Phillies.  In the fifth

Realmuto hit an RBI single and McCutchen hit a two-run double extending the lead to 7-0.  That would

be the final score as the Yankees were swept in Philly and have now lost three straight games.  

They will head to Buffalo for a three game series with the Toronto Blue Jays beginning on Tuesday 

night.
