The New York Mets lost to the
Atlanta Braves on Tuesday afternoon. The
game took place at Champion Stadium in Orlando, Florida and the final score was
5-4 Braves. Matt Harvey made his first
start of the spring and pitched pretty well.
Wilmer Flores had three hits to lead the offense and Juan Lagares had a
couple of hits.
Harvey pitched three innings giving
up three hits and a run with two walks and a strikeout. Rafael Montero pitched an inning giving up
two hits and a run, Dario Alvarez pitched an inning giving up two hits and a
run with two walks and Chasen Bradford pitched an inning giving up two hits and
he struck out one. Chase Huchingson
pitched an inning giving up a hit and he struck out one and Zach Thornton
pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up four hits and two runs with a strikeout.
Roger Bernadina had a hit and drew
a walk, Travis Taijeron had a hit and Michael Conforto had a hit and drew a
walk. Flores had three hits and an RBI,
Eric Campbell drew a walk and Lagares had two hits, two RBI and drew a
walk. Marc Krauss had two hits and an
RBI. The Mets were 4-12 with runners in
scoring position and left seven men on base.
Lagares had two stolen bases and Flores was caught stealing. Flores committed an error.
In the third Nick Markakis hit a
sac fly to give the Braves a 1-0 lead.
In the fourth Lagares hit a two run single to give the Mets a 2-1
lead. In the fourth Krauss hit an RBI
single to push the lead to 3-1. In the
bottom of the fourth Nick Swisher hit into a double play and a run scored to
cut the lead to 3-2. In the fifth Flores
hit an RBI single to push the lead to 4-2.
In the bottom of the fifth Erick Aybar hit an RBI single to cut the lead
to 4-3. In the bottom of the ninth
Dansby Swanson hit an RBI triple to tie the game and Emilio Bonifacio hit an
RBI single to win the game 5-4 for the Braves.
The Mets will play at home in Port
St. Lucie on Wednesday afternoon against the New York Yankees.
