New York Yankees losing streak hits six as they fall in Baltimore

The New York Yankees were defeated by the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland and the final score was 4-1.  This game was like so many during the Yankees struggles in the last 2 1/2 weeks.  They put guys on but can't drive them in and Luis Severino started and was just ok and hurt himself with a couple of fielding errors.

Severino pitched six innings giving up four runs and five hits and three of them were earned.  He took his fourth loss of the season and he walked two and struck out four.  Kirby Yates pitched a perfect inning and Johnny Barbato pitched a perfect inning with a couple of strikeouts.

Chris Tillman won his third game of the season and he pitched seven innings giving up five hits and a run with four walks and nine strikeouts.  Brad Brach pitched an inning giving up a hit and Darren O'Day saved his second game of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit.

Jacoby Ellsbury had a hit, Brett Gardner had a hit and drew a walk and Dustin Ackley had a hit.  Mark Teixeira drew a walk, Brian McCann had a hit and drew two walks and Carlos Beltran had two hits.  Didi Gregorius had a hit and an RBI, Gardner hit a double and the Yankees were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.  Severino committed two errors.

Manny Machado had a hit and drew a walk, Mark Trumbo had two hits and three RBI and Matt Wieters had a hit.  Pedro Alvarez drew a walk, Jonathan Schoop had a hit including a double and Machado also hit a double.  Trumbo hit two homeruns and the Orioles were 0-6 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.

In the second Gregorius hit an RBI single giving the Yankees a 1-0 lead.  In the second Trumbo hit a solo homerun to tie the game at one.  In the fourth Flaherty reached on a missed catch error by Severino and a run scored making it 2-1 Orioles.  In the fifth Trumbo hit a two run homerun to extend the Orioles lead to 4-1 and that would be the final score.

The Yankees have lost six straight games and the two teams will play game two of three on Wednesday night.  The Yankees will look to even the series and try to win the series to end the roadtrip on Thursday night.
