The New York Mets defeated the
Atlanta Braves on Saturday evening. The
game took place at SunTrust Park in Atlanta, Georgia and the final score was
7-3. Jacob deGrom started for the Mets
and he pitched well. Gavin Cecchini led
the offense with three hits and two RBI.
deGrom pitched seven innings giving
up five hits and a run. He walked two
and struck out seven and won his 15th game of the season. Jeurys Familia pitched an inning giving up a
hit and AJ Ramos pitched an inning giving up two hits and two runs with a walk.
R.A. Dickey pitched five innings
giving up eight hits and five runs with two walks. Lucas Sims pitched two innings giving up
three hits and two runs with a walk and a strikeout, Jason Motte pitched a
perfect inning with two strikeouts and Max Fried pitched a perfect inning with
two strikeouts.
Nori Aoki had two hits, Brandon
Nimmo had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit and an
RBI. Dominic Smith had two hits and two
RBI, Juan Lagares had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk and Cecchini had three hits
and two RBI. Aoki hit two doubles,
Nimmo, Cabrera, Cecchini and Smith each hit a double and the Mets were 5-13
with runners in scoring position and left 4 men on base. Lagares was caught stealing.
Ender Inciarte had a hit, Ozzie
Albies drew a walk and Freddie Freeman had two hits and an RBI. Kurt Suzuki drew a walk, Rio Ruiz drew a walk
and Johan Camargo had a hit. Jace
Peterson had two hits, Dickey had a hit and Lane Adams had a hit and two
RBI. Freeman hit a homerun and the
Braves were 2-6 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on
base. Inciarte had an outfield
assist.
In the second Lagares hit an RBI
single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.
Cecchini hit an RBI single to push the lead to 2-0. In the third Nimmo hit an RBI double to make
it a 3-0 game. Cabrera hit an RBI double
to extend the lead to 4-0. In the fourth
Cecchini hit an RBI double pushing the lead to 5-0. In the sixth Freeman hit a solo homerun to
cut the lead to 5-1. In the seventh
Smith hit a two-run double to push the lead to 7-1. In the ninth Adams hit a two-run single
cutting the lead to 7-3 but that would be the final score.
