New York Yankees offense is at it again as they roll over the Minnesota Twins


The New York Yankees defeated the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night.  The game took place at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, New York and the final score was 8-3.  CC Sabathia started for the Yankees and pitched very well.  Aaron Judge and Didi Gregorius each had three hits and Gary Sanchez and Gleyber Torres each had two hits to lead the offense. 

Sabathia pitched six innings giving up two hits and a run which was unearned.  He walked one and struck out four and earned his first victory of the season.  Dellin Betances pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up a hit and an unearned run with two walks and a strikeout, David Robertson pitched 2/3 of an inning with a strikeout and Chasen Shreve pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a strikeout.  Jonathan Holder pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts. 

Jose Berrios pitched four innings giving up six hits and five runs with two walks and seven strikeouts and he lost his second game of the season.  Ryan Pressly pitched a perfect inning with three strikeouts, Tyler Duffey pitched two innings giving up four hits and three runs with a walk and a strikeout and Taylor Rogers pitched an inning with two strikeouts. 

Brett Gardner drew a walk, Judge had three hits and an RBI and Gregorius had three hits and three RBI.  Sanchez had two hits and three RBI, Aaron Hicks drew two walks and Torres had two hits and an RBI.  Judge hit a double, Sanchez hit two homeruns and Gregorius and Judge each hit a homerun.  The Yankees were 2-6 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base.  Judge, Walker, Betances and Torres each committed an error. 

Max Kepler had a hit, Miguel Sano drew a walk and Eduardo Escobar had three hits, an RBI and drew a walk.  Mitch Garver had a hit, Logan Morrison drew a walk and Escobar hit two doubles and Kapler hit a double.  The Twins were 2-10 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  Escobar was caught stealing and Garver committed an error. 

In the first Escobar hit an RBI double to give the Twins a 1-0 lead.  In the second Sanchez hit a solo homerun to tie the game at one.  In the third Gregorius hit an RBI single to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead.  In the fourth Torres hit an RBI single to push the lead to 3-1.  In the fifth Gregorius hit a two-run homerun and it was 5-1 Yankees.  In the seventh Garver hit an RBI single cutting the lead to 5-2.  in the bottom of the seventh Judge hit a solo homerun, Sanchez hit a two-run homerun and it was 8-2 Yankees.  In the eighth Escobar hit an RBI double to cut the lead to 8-3 and that would be the final score.   

The Yankees will look to take the series with a game on Wednesday night.
