New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in walk-off fashion


The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 3-0.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and he pitched great.  Amed Rosario led the offense with two hits, they only had four. 

deGrom pitched eight innings giving up five hits and no runs with a walk and seven strikeouts.  Jeurys Familia pitched a perfect inning and Robert Gsellman won his sixth game of the season pitching an inning and giving up a hit and he walked one. 

Vince Velasquez pitched six innings giving up two hits and no runs with a walk and three strikeouts.  Pat Neshek pitched a perfect inning, Victor Arano pitched 2/3 of an inning and he walked two and Adam Morgan retired the only batter that he faced.  Seranthony Dominguez pitched an inning with a strikeout and Mark Leiter Jr. took his first loss of the season.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up two hits and three runs with a walk. 

Michael Conforto drew a walk, Wilmer Flores had a hit and Rosario had two hits and drew a walk.  Jose Reyes drew a walk, Asdrubal Cabrera drew a walk and Brandon Nimmo had a hit and three RBI.  Rosario hit a double and Nimmo hit a homerun.  The Mets were 1-2 with runners in scoring position and left four men on base.  Rosario had a stolen base and Rosario was caught stealing. 

Cesar Hernandez had two hits, Rhys Hoskins drew a walk and Odubel Herrera had a hit.  Nick Williams had a hit, Maikel Franco had a hit and Andrew Knapp had a hit and drew a walk.  Knapp hit a double and the Phillies were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.  Herrera had a stolen base, Hernandez committed an error. 

In the tenth Nimmo hit a three-run walk-off homerun to give the Mets the 3-0 victory.
