The New York
Yankees defeated the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night. The game took place at T-Mobile Park in
Seattle, Washington and the final score was 7-0. Masahiro Tanaka started for the Yankees and
he pitched great. DJ LeMahieu, Aaron
Judge and Gleyber Torres each had two hits to lead the offense.
Tanaka pitched
seven innings giving up three hits and no runs.
He walked one and struck out seven and earned his 10th win of
the season. Luis Cessa pitched two
innings giving up a hit and he struck out one.
Yusei Kikuchi
pitched four innings giving up eight hits and five runs with three walks and a
strikeout. Kikuchi lost his ninth game
of the season. Reggie McClain pitched
three innings giving up three hits and a run with four strikeouts. Erik Swanson pitched an inning with a
strikeout and Taylor Guilbeau pitched an inning giving up an unearned run with
two walks and a strikeout.
LeMahieu had two
hits and drew a walk, Judge had two hits and two RBI and Torres had two
hits. Gary Sanchez had a hit and drew
two walks, Brett Gardner had a hit, three RBI and drew a walk and Gio Urshela
had a hit. Austin Romine had a hit, two
RBI and drew a walk, Mike Ford had a hit and Ford, Romine and Urshela each hit
a double. Judge and Gardner each hit a
homerun and the Yankees were 1-12 with runners in scoring position and left 11
men on base.
J.P Crawford had
a hit, Omar Narvaez had a hit and Kyle Seager had a hit. Tim Lopes had a hit, Dee Gordon drew a walk
and Seager and Narvaez each hit a double.
The Mariners were 1-7 with runners in scoring position and left four men
on base. Guilbeau committed an
error.
In the first
Judge hit a two-run homerun to give the Yankees a 2-0 lead. In the third Gardner hit a three-run homerun
to push the Yankees lead to 5-0. In the
fifth Romine hit an RBI ground out and in the ninth Romine drew an RBI walk to
make it 7-0 which was the final score.
The Yankees will
go for the three-game sweep on Wednesday afternoon.
