The New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles played to a 3-3 tie on Saturday afternoon. Ken Waldichuk
started for the Yankees and pitched three innings giving up four hits and two runs with a strikeout. Clay
Holmes pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up four hits and a run with three walks and three strikeouts. Edgar
Barclay pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up a walk and he struck out one and Zach Greene pitched an inning
giving up a hit and striking out one. The Orioles used seven pitchers and they all pitched well.
Josh Donaldson had a hit and an RBI, Aaron Hicks drew a walk and Phillip Evans had a hit. Chad Bell
drew a walk, David Freitas had a hit and two RBI. Evans hit a double, Freitas and Donaldson each hit a
homerun. The Yankees were 1-3 with runners in scoring position and left three men on base. Perez had a
stolen base.
In the third Freitas hit a two run homer giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead. Donaldson hits a solo homer to
extend the Yankees lead to 3-0. In the bottom of the third Jacob Nottingham hit anRBI double cutting
the lead to 3-1. Mancini hit an RBI single making it a 3-2 game. In the bottom of the fifth Ryan
Mountcastle hit an RBI single to tie the game at three. The final score was 3-3 and the Yankees are now
0-1-1 in the Spring. They will play Sunday afternoon for their first home game.
