New York Mets blow lead for second straight day as they fall to the Colorado Rockies



The New York Mets were defeated by the Colorado Rockies on Thursday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 2-1.  Jacob deGrom started for the Mets and was great and Jeurys Familia blew his second straight save.  Neil Walker and Rene Rivera each had three hits. 

deGrom pitched seven innings giving up five hits and no runs with a walk and six strikeouts.  Addison Reed pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit, Jerry Blevins struck out the only batter that he faced and Familia blew his second save of the season and lost his third game of the season.  He pitched 1/3 of an inning giving up two hits and two runs with two walks and a strikeout.  Hansel Robles pitched to two batters and struck out one. 

Tyler Anderson pitched six innings giving up seven hits and a run with no walks and five strikeouts.  Jake McGee gave up two hits and a walk and didn't record an out, Scott Oberg pitched an inning striking out one and Jordan Lyles pitched an inning giving up a hit and struck out one and he won his third game of the season.  Carlos Estevez pitched a perfect inning with a strikeout.  

Wilmer Flores had a hit, Walker had three hits and Asdrubal Cabrera had a hit.  James Loney had a hit, Rivera had three hits and an RBI and Alejandro De Aza had a hit.  Yoenis Cespedes drew a walk, Rivera hit two doubles and Walker and De Aza each hit a double.  The Mets were 1-9 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Loney committed an error. 

Charlie Blackmon drew a walk, D.J. LeMahieu had a hit and Carlos Gonzalez had a hit.  Trevor Story had two hits, David Dahl had two hits and drew a walk and Daniel Descalso had a hit.  Tony Wolters had a hit, Anderson drew a walk and Cristhian Adames had an RBI.  The Rockies were 1-6 with runners in scoring position and left ten men on base.  Story had a stolen base, Arenado committed an error and Gonzalez had an outfield assist. 

In the second Rivera hit an RBI double to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the ninth Adames reached on an error and the game was tied at one.  A wild pitch made it 2-1 and that was the final score.  The teams will play game two on Friday night.
