New York Mets walk-off against the Milwaukee Brewers


The New York Mets defeated the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 3-2.  Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and he pitched well.  The Mets bullpen pitched really well and Brandon Nimmo had three hits to lead the offense. 

Syndergaard pitched 5 1/3 innings giving up two hits and an unearned run.  He walked one and struck out 11.  Robert Gsellman pitched an inning giving up two hits and an unearned run with a walk and two strikeouts, AJ Ramos pitched 1/3 of an inning with two walks and Jerry Blevins pitched to one batter and retired him.  Hansel Robles pitched an inning with a strikeout and Jeurys Familia won his first game of the season pitching an inning and giving up a walk with two strikeouts. 

Jhoulys Chacin pitched four innings giving up five hits and a run with three walks and four strikeouts.  Taylor Williams pitched 1 2/3 innings giving up a hit and a run with three walks and two strikeouts, Jeremy Jeffress pitched 1 1/3 innings with two strikeouts and Dan Jennings pitched an inning with two strikeouts.  Matt Albers pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up a hit and a run with a strikeout and he lost his first game of the season. 

Nimmo had three hits and an RBI, Michael Conforto had a hit and drew a walk and Todd Frazier had a hit, an RBI and drew two walks.  Wilmer Flores had a hit, an RBI and drew a walk, Amed Rosario drew a walk and Jay Bruce drew a walk.  Syndergaard had a hit which was a double, Nimmo hit a triple and a homerun and Flores hit a homerun and the Mets were 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left 12 men on base.  Flores and Rosario each committed an error. 

Jonathan Villar drew two walks, Jesus Aguilar had a hit and Lorenzo Cain drew three walks.  Domingo Santana had a hit, Hernan Perez had a hit and Jett Bandy had a hit.  The Brewers were 1-10 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.  Perez and Villar each had a stolen base and Villar committed an error. 

In the first Frazier hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.  In the sixth Perez reached on a throwing error and two runs scored to give the Brewers a 2-1 lead.  In the sixth Nimmo hit a solo homerun to tie the game at two.  In the ninth Flores hit a solo homerun to walk-off and give the Mets a 3-2 victory. 
The Mets will remain at home on Monday to begin a series with the Washington N
