The New York Mets continue their dominance over the Philadelphia Phillies with win



The New York Mets defeated the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night.  The game took place at Citi Field in Flushing, New York and the final score was 3-1.  Bartolo Colon started for the Mets and pitched great and Michael Conforto had two of the teams four hits. 

Colon pitched eight innings giving up four hits and no runs with a walk and nine strikeouts.  Colon won his 12th game of the season and Jeurys Familia pitched an inning giving up two hits and a run with a walk and a strikeout and he saved his 36th game of the season. 

Jerad Eickhoff pitched seven innings giving up four hits and three runs.  He walked two and struck out four and lost his second game of the season.  Jeanmar Gomez pitched a perfect inning. 

Curtis Granderson had a hit, two RBI and drew a walk, Conforto had two hits, an RBI and drew a walk and Colon had a hit.  Conforto and Granderson each hit a homerun and the Mets were 0-2 with runners in scoring position and left two men on base.  Conforto was caught stealing. 

Cesar Hernandez had two hits, Aaron Altherr had a hit and Ryan Howard drew two walks.  Andres Blanco had a hit, Freddy Galvis had a hit and Eickhoff had a hit.  The Phillies were 0-3 with runners in scoring position and left five men on base.  The two teams will play game two of three on Tuesday night.
