The New York
Mets defeated the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday afternoon. The game took place at Citi Field in
Flushing, New York and the final score was 1-0.
Noah Syndergaard started for the Mets and he pitched great and he also
provided the only offense.
Syndergaard pitched
nine innings giving up four hits and no runs with a walk and ten
strikeouts. Syndergaard won his second
game of the season.
Tyler Mahnle
pitched five innings giving up four hits and a run with no walks and seven
strikeouts. He lost his fourth game of
the season. Zach Duke pitched an inning
with a walk and a strikeout, Robert Stephenson pitched an inning with a strikeout
and David Hernandez pitched a perfect inning.
Pete Alonso drew
a walk, Robinson Cano had a hit and Michael Conforto had a hit. Wilson Ramos had a hit, Syndergaard had a hit
and an RBI and Ramos hit a double.
Syndergaard hit a homerun and the Mets were 0-4 with runners in scoring
position and left three men on base.
Eugenio Suarez
had a hit and drew a walk, Derek Dietrich had two hits and Jose Peraza had a
hit. The Reds were 0-1 with runners in
scoring position and left four men on base.
Lorenzen had a stolen base.
The only run of
the game was scored in the third inning on a Syndergaard solo homerun. The Mets were able to salvage the four-game
series by getting the split. They will
now head to Milwaukee for a weekend series.
